2019 Activities
NC Spring meeting in Santa Clara, CA on February 24, 2019. OCEESA co-hosted this event with CIE-SFB, in conjunction with CIE-SFB 20-year celebration. OCEESA members Ning-Wu Chang, John C. Huang, Jason Wen, George Chien, Anmin Liu, and Yung-Sung Cheng attended the meeting.
NC Fall meeting in Dallas, TX on August 18, 2019, in conjunction with the 2019 AAEOY event. OCEESA members Yung-Sung Cheng, Chui Fan Cheng, Ning-Wu Chang, and Jason Wen attended the meeting.
The 19th Mainland-Taiwan Environmental Protection Conference (MTEPC) was successfully held in Tianjin, China from May 17 to 21, 2019. The conference was hosted by Tianjin University, Tianjin, and co-sponsored by Taiwan University, Taipei, and OCEESA. Four OCEESA members attended the conference – Professors Qin Qian, Kaimin Shih, Pao-Chiang Yuan, and Dr. Kuo-Kuang. Two hundred and eighty-five Chinese environmental scientists, engineers and graduate students from Mainland, Taiwan, and Overseas attended the conference. A total of 176 technical papers were presented in eight concurrent technical sessions, including 38 technical papers presented by graduate students working on their master or doctoral degrees. In addition, there were 32 posters of research studies by graduate students displayed during the Conference.
Upcoming Events
The 20th MTEPC will be hosted by Taipei University of Technology (臺北科技大學) and assisted by Tianjin University (天津大學). Conference timing was tentatively set in November 2020, but will be postponed due to unforeseen situation at this time. OCEESA, as the co-sponsor of the event, will coordinate closely with the hosting organizations to finalize the conference date and theme.
Based on the resolution from the 2019 Spring NC meeting, OCEESA will co-host the 2021 AAEOY event with CIE-SoCal. Coordination and planning activities will continue throughout the 2020.
